SPECIAL FACILITIES
APOLLO DROP TOWER
This was an engineering test facility constructed speacially for testing the Apollo command modules for effects of dirt and water landing impacts. The 60 foot swing tower would suspend a test CM and then release it into a water tank instrumented with high speed cameras to observe impact conditions.
The Tower and tank facility was located due east of the Building 288 Labs. It was constructed circa 1962



Artificial Gravity Simulation Program
ROTATIONAL FACILITY
This facility was constructed to study and evaluate the effects of rotational motion and loads on astronauts and equpment. It was located northeast of the Apollo Drop Tower.

DEI ROOM BUILDING 001

This was a special room that was built to accomodate the NAA Space Shuttle Orbiter Mock-up and other Proposal Displays. Many special events were held here for custormers and the public.
THERMAL VACUUM CHAMBER B-288
In the Building 288 Laboratory Test Facility was a Thermal Vacuum Chamber designed to test the Apollo Command Modules.
